National Highways is currently recruiting for an Assistant Claims Handler to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract. As an Assistant Claims Handler , you will support the effective and timely resolution of claims by working closely with Claims Handlers and Claims Managers. This role involves engaging with various stakeholders, managing claim-related data, and supporting decision-making processes to help protect the interests of National Highways.
This is a hybrid role requiring attendance at our Birmingham or Mansfield office for a minimum of two days per week.
- Receive and process new claims, ensuring accurate input into administrative systems to support audit trails.
- Support straightforward claims, collaborating with stakeholders to gather necessary evidence and provide informed recommendations.
- Support the progress of unresolved claims by uploading documents from our internal systems to the secure storage system of our external litigation partner.
- Ensure accurate data entry across relevant claims databases, maintaining compliance and transparency.
- Raise invoices for the national teams once settlements have been agreed, monitoring the in-boxes for confirmation that the funds have been received.
About You
- Experience of handling claims or cases.
- Excellent organisation skills and ability to prioritise.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
