Play Worker Position
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Play Worker at our Afterschool & Holiday club.
The Role will be for approximately 15-20 hours week for our Afterschool Club and every Saturday for our SEN club. You must be available to work at least three full days during the school holidays in our Holiday Club. The role will be working with children from 4‐12 years of age, where the main aspect of the club is enjoyment.
The role involves the following:
- ensuring preparation of creative play opportunities
- provide a safe and caring environment
- providing care to children
- working as part of a team
- being able to meet individual children’s needs
- working within agreed policies
- ensuring club premises are left clean and tidy
- attend training courses as appropriate
- driving to collect children from school
The role also involves working with children on a Saturday 9.30am-2.00pm who are SEN, therefore experience/understanding of working with children in this field is required
Hours available are:
Monday - Friday 3.00pm - 6.00pm
Every Saturday - 9am - 2.00pm
Must be available for three days a week during school holidays - 8.00am - 5.45pm
Please note - the hours stated above are what is required of this post, therefore will not be suitable for university students.
Club opening hours are:
3.00pm‐6.00pm – Monday – Friday term time
8.00am‐5.45pm Monday – Friday during school holidays. (3 days)
9.30am-2.00pm - every other Saturday
Applicants must have some experience in childcare, preferably a level 3 childcare qualification and preference will be given to applicants who hold a full UK driving license.
Essential: Must have DBS on update service and experience of working with children (SEN)
