The Role
We are seeking a full-time Accountancy Support Officer to work directly under our accountant. You will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day client accountancy needs, ensuring accuracy in compliance, and providing excellent support to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing self-employment registrations with HMRC.
- Compiling reports and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Preparing VAT returns for accountant review.
- Providing telephone and email support to clients regarding accountancy matters.
- Liaising with clients and HMRC where required.
- Supporting the accountant with ad hoc tasks as the business grows.
About You:
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confident communicator, especially on the phone.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Previous experience in accountancy, bookkeeping, or administration is desirable but not essential (training will be provided).
- Competent IT skills with familiarity in Microsoft Office or similar tools.
