Distinctive is currently looking for a Character Artist to join our small team of highly talented developers in Sheffield, UK to work on our next generation sports titles for mobile devices and beyond.
Distinctive has been developing awesome mobile games since 2001 and focuses on creating compelling and fun sports games for mobile devices. Our current key titles include Rugby Nations 24 and Hockey All Stars 24, which are top performing games on the Apple App Store and Google Play stores.
We are on the lookout for a highly talented 3D character artist to join our team. This role involves working with and learning from our highly experienced artists to create lifelike male and female sport players as we take our sports games to the next level.
You can expect to be involved in helping define the characters, model & sculpt highly detailed meshes, repoologise to game-ready assets, create textures and materials. You’ll work as part of a close-knit team to bring those characters to life, with the aid of our in-house motion capture studio.
Must have
- Excellent 3D modelling skills in Maya.
- Character sculpting in ZBrush.
- PBR Texture/Material creation in Substance Painter.
- An ability to work within the technical limitations of mobile devices.
- Character Rigging and Skinning experience.
- Creativity and self motivation.
- A great portfolio showing what you’re capable of.
- Able to work from concept art as well develop your own ideas.
- An attention to detail.
- Great communication and team working.
Great to have
- Ideally experience working with characters within the Unity Engine.
- Experience of rigging tools such as Accurig.
