Hours: 40 hours per week (Evening and weekend work required, with TOIL)

The Role
We are seeking a passionate and highly organised Artistic Coordinator to work at the heart of Brixton House's artistic engine. This role supports and connects the work of our Programming & Production team and our Creative and Civic Engagement team, ensuring seamless communication, efficient planning, and collaborative delivery of our artistic programme.
As Artistic Coordinator, you will play a vital role in the development, planning and realisation of both professional productions and community-led projects. You’ll bring excellent organisational skills, strong administrative ability, and a deep commitment to inclusive and artistically ambitious work.
Key Responsibilities
Cross-Team Coordination
- Act as a key liaison between the Programming & Production and Creative and Civic Engagement teams.
- Coordinate internal planning calendars and timelines to ensure alignment across artistic projects.
- Schedule and support team meetings, production meetings, and planning sessions.
- Assist in managing project workflows and communication between departments and with external partners.
Programming & Production Support
- Support the Head of Programming & Production, the Producer and the wider team in the delivery of the artistic programme.
- Assist with contracting artists, creatives and companies, ensuring timely and accurate administration.
- Maintain records of programming information, schedules, and technical needs.
- Attend rehearsals, previews, and performances as required to support production delivery.
Creative and Civic Engagement Support
- Assist in the planning and delivery of engagement projects such as Brixton House Good Neighbours, Demonstrate, Young Associates, and family activities.
- Coordinate, host, and support engagement sessions for a wide range of participants including young people, schools, families, and community partners.
- Manage communications with participants, facilitators, freelancers and teachers.
- Organise event logistics including travel, materials, room bookings and catering.
- Support access and inclusivity within all engagement activity.
Programme Evaluation
- Lead on managing evaluation processes across Creative and Civic engagement and Producing initiatives.
- Work closely with teams to ensure effective monitoring, feedback collection and impact reporting.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reflective practice and continual improvement.
Marketing
- Collaborate with the Marketing Team to promote Creative and Civic Engagement programmes
- Create and disseminate mailouts to community and education providers
- Maintain an image database for the Creative and Civic Engagement department
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates the following:
- Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to use own initiative to problem solve
- Proven administrative experience in a creative, cultural, or educational setting.
- Experience or confidence in monitoring, evaluation and impact reporting in arts or community projects.
- Experience of marketing arts programmes to schools, families and/or communities
- Comfortable coordinating and hosting public-facing events with a wide range of participants.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, collaborative, and flexible approach to team working.
- Knowledge and/or experience of theatre production or community engagement practices.
- Ability to work effectively with artists, freelancers, and community groups.
- Confidence using digital tools such as Google Workspace, Excel or project management platforms.
- A passion for arts, creativity, and inclusive participation.
- A strong commitment to access, representation and equity in the arts.
- Able to work some evenings and weekends as required.
