Utopia Supported Housing has been providing supported housing for young people in need since 2016 with houses covering Hastings, Bexhill and Eastbourne. We are looking for support staff who know how to make a house a home and support 16–17-year-olds find their independence and live a good quality of life.
Do you have experience of working with young people who may have had traumatic backgrounds, emotional & behavioural difficulties, childhood trauma and complex behavioural needs or do you have caring, empathetic & supportive qualities that you feel may make you an excellent support worker, we would love to hear from you.

- Use of IT systems
- Build good rapports
- Liaise with local authorities
- Provide a safe, comfortable, supportive and welcoming home for our service users and provide emotional support where required.
- Supporting service users from traumatic backgrounds who suffer emotional, behavioural and complex needs.
- Adhere to strict safeguarding & child protection polices
- Maintain cleaning and maintenance within the houses
- Teaching young people independent living skills and supporting young people in the community when necessary
- Portray a good understanding of equality & diversity
Requirements for the role:
- Experience of working in a similar setting is desirable however, not essential
- To hold a Level 3/4 Children, young people, family practitioner apprenticeship or be willing to work towards this qualification while working with us is mandatory
- Knowledge of Ofsted is desirable however, not essential
- Minimum required working age of 21 years

- Due to government criteria for the mandatory Diploma qualification applicant must have lived in the UK for 3 years continuously, cannot be on a student visa and must have indefinite leave to remain.
Salary:
£12.21 per hour with a £35 additional payment, per sleep-in
Schedule:
Full time and part time. Permanent position although contracted to zero hours. Shifts can be claimed using Rota Cloud, this gives employees the chance to choose their working pattern. Allocated shift patterns can also be arranged for ease. Maximum working hours are 60 hours per week. Minimum working hours are 15 per week. Monday-Sunday rota.
Working patterns are 08:00-23:00 with a sleep-in or 08:00-22:00 and go home. Applicants must be able to work some sleep-in shifts and some weekend shifts.

Work Location:
Utopia Supported Housing has various houses across Hastings, Bexhill and Eastbourne. There is no remote working. Applicants must be able to work at any location and we cannot guarantee any employee will be allocated shifts in only one area.
