We are looking for a skilled Yardperson to join our client's team. This is a hands-on role, central to the smooth and safe running of our yard operations. You’ll be responsible for ensuring materials are handled efficiently, with a particular focus on chemical handling and tanker offloading.
Monday-Friday 05:50-14:00 - £13.21 + enhanced overtime rate
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all site activities safely, following company procedures and COMAH regulations.
- Conduct site opening/closing procedures including security checks and equipment inspections.
- Promote a strong safety culture through hazard awareness, reporting, and mitigation.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound deliveries, including tanker offloading.
- Operate a forklift to move, load, and store materials.
- Keep the yard clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Perform regular inspections to identify hazards or maintenance needs.
- Check delivery notes and maintain accurate records/logs.
- Ensure system reporting (SAP, Redzone) is accurate and timely.
- Liaise with supervisors and team members to provide updates and escalate issues where needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience with tanker offloading (essential).
- Chemical handling experience (essential).
- Valid FLT licence.
- Solid understanding of production processes, safety regulations, and equipment protocols.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- A proactive team player with the ability to work independently when required.
- Calm under pressure with a positive, flexible, and logical approach.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal), computer literate, and numerate.
- Commitment to continuous learning, self-development, and progression.
- Previous experience in a COMAH environment (advantageous).
