I.T. Williams Company Ltd is a long-established, family-run business based in Ruthin, specialising in custom shipping container conversions. We design and build bespoke units such as offices, welfare cabins, bars, gyms, and more, working with a variety of clients across Wales and the UK.
We are looking for a skilled Workshop Supervisor to lead our team of welders and fabricators, ensuring high standards of workmanship, safety, and efficiency in our busy workshop.
About the Role
This is a hands-on supervisory role that combines team leadership with practical welding and fabrication work. The successful candidate will take responsibility for daily workshop operations, job allocation, and maintaining safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Supervise and support a team of 3 welders/fabricators, ensuring jobs are completed on time and to a high standard
✅ Deliver and record regular toolbox talks, maintaining strong Health & Safety standards
✅ Oversee workshop safety, ensuring compliance with PUWER, COSHH, and company H&S procedures
✅ Organise workflow, allocate jobs, and carry out quality checks on container conversions
✅ Lead by example in welding, fabrication, and safe working practices
✅ Liaise with management on progress, materials, and process improvements
About You
Time-served welder/fabricator with strong practical skills
Knowledge of workshop Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work
Experience in delivering toolbox talks and supervising a small team
Able to read drawings and produce high-quality fabrication work
Organised, proactive, and confident in leading a team day-to-day
