Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Woodwind Tutor to lead an after-school Recorder Club at a primary school near Camberley. This role offers the opportunity to inspire children through music, helping them develop musical skills, coordination, confidence, and a love of playing instruments in a fun and supportive environment.
The club runs for 30 minutes per week, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, 12:30pm – 1:00pm, giving children a weekly opportunity to explore the recorder and build their musical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise children during recorder/woodwind activities in a safe and positive environment.
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate sessions that develop musical skills, rhythm, and confidence.
- Encourage teamwork, self-expression, and enthusiasm for music.
- Communicate effectively with parents and school staff about children’s progress.
- Ensure instruments and the activity space are safe, organized, and ready for use.
Experience & Skills
- Experience teaching or leading woodwind/recorder sessions for children.
- Ability to engage and motivate children in a structured, fun, and creative way.
- Strong communication skills in English for interacting with children, parents, and school staff.
- A background in music education or woodwind performance is highly desirable.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £28.00 per hour
