We pride ourselves on offering an extensive selection of wines from around the world, creating a haven for wine enthusiasts. We are seeking a dedicated Wine Bar Associate to join our small team. The ideal candidate will work closely with one other team member to ensure exceptional service to our patrons. This role requires a strong foundation in wine knowledge, the ability to operate independently, and a proactive approach to improving operational systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all guests. Assist customers in selecting wines that suit their preferences and offer insights into our diverse wine collection.
- Utilise extensive knowledge of wines to make recommendations, answer inquiries, and enhance the overall customer experience.
- Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, ensuring the bar is well-stocked, and maintaining cleanliness and organisation.
- Efficiently operate the POS system for processing transactions. Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance POS functionalities for better efficiency.
- Monitor and manage the reservations inbox, respond to booking inquiries promptly, and coordinate seating arrangements to optimise the guest experience.
- Assist in organising and executing charitable and special events, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional service during these occasions.
Demonstrated understanding of various wines, regions, and pairings. Prior experience in a sommelier role or relevant certification is a plus.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, make informed decisions, and take initiative in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with point of sale systems, with a knack for identifying and implementing improvements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, essential for interacting with guests and managing reservations.
- Willingness to adapt to varying schedules, including occasional weekend events

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
