We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused Web Designer & Content Stylist to join our Web Team. This role is ideal for someone who’s passionate about web design, musical instruments, has an eye for detail, and enjoys working across both technical and creative teams to bring web content to life.
You’ll be responsible for building, styling, and maintaining web pages in line with our branding and design standards. From implementing new page layouts to improving existing ones, your goal is to ensure consistency, usability, and visual polish across our site. You’ll work directly with developers and content creators to ensure our digital experiences are beautiful and coherent.
This is a hands-on opportunity to sharpen your front-end design implementation skills within a collaborative and forward-thinking digital team. You’ll be instrumental in elevating the design quality of our site while learning from experienced developers and content strategists.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and style web pages using tools like Shogun, WordPress, or similar visual builders.
- Collaborate with the technical team to implement and refine new front-end components and design elements.
- Translating your designs into reusable components that will ensure the content writers can reliably publish guides, articles and other copy while meeting Andertons web design standards.
- Maintain and update our web style guide by flagging inconsistencies and suggesting improvements.
- Perform bulk updates and detailed checks across a large volume of pages to ensure design quality and compliance.
Key Skills & Experience
Required:
- A background in design as it relates to modern web experiences.
- Hands-on experience with visual page builders such as Shogun, WordPress, Webflow, Elementor, etc.
- A working knowledge of HTML and CSS, you should understand how your changes affect the underlying code.
- A strong visual sense with a meticulous eye for layout, spacing, and visual hierarchy.
- Willingness to handle repetitive or large-scale design QA tasks methodically and thoroughly.
- Comfortable working across teams, technical and creative, and juggling multiple projects at once.
Desirable:
- Exposure to design systems or component libraries.
- Experience working with Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, or similar design tools.
- Some knowledge of accessibility standards and responsive design best practices
Extra Information
- Contract Type: Full Time
- Working Hours: 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday
- Salary: £28,000-£30,000 pa
- Job Location: Andertons Digital Office, Guildford
