About the Role:
We are currently seeking a Waste Water Operative to join our dedicated Sustainability and Water team at our busy food manufacturing site. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and function of our internal and external drainage systems and water treatment plant to ensure smooth production and compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine and emergency drain clearance tasks across the factory site.
- Monitor and maintain waste water systems, including grease traps, gullies
- Conduct regular inspections and report any faults or blockages.
- Operate cleaning machinery safely and effectively.
- Support maintenance during shutdowns or deep cleans as required.
- Follow strict health & safety and food safety protocols at all times.
- Complete necessary records and paperwork in line with site standards.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in drainage, waste water, or industrial cleaning (ideally in a food factory or industrial setting).
- Familiarity with high-pressure jetting equipment.
- Physically fit – the role involves manual work in sometimes confined spaces.
- Basic knowledge of health & safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work Saturday mornings on rota and respond to urgent callouts if required.
Desirable:
- Forklift or other site vehicle license.
