Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team at Waste Mission as a Waste Recycling Operative. In this role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to move materials within our facility, ensuring efficient loading and unloading processes. Your contributions will be vital in supporting our mission to deliver exceptional waste management services. Forklift operation will form a part of your role and there will be some manual segregation of materials involved.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to transport materials around the site.
- Load and unload shipments accurately while adhering to safety protocols.
- Perform regular equipment checks and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the warehouse environment.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and efficiency.
Requirements
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Strong understanding of materials handling and warehouse operations.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
- Experience of working with metals is NOT neccessary
- Sorting scrap metal into its different grades
- Processing the metal using a range of different machines
- Hard working with a great work ethic and a can-do attitude
