Principal Function(s)
· To undertake operational activities as directed by the Production Manager and Operations Coordinator - including packing and unpacking of product for irradiation, storage or transport and other warehousing activities
· Delivery and collections by light van within the UK
. Site Maintenance
Main Duties & Responsibilities
WAREHOUSING
Packing product according to predetermined packaging configurations. This includes preparation for irradiation, storage and/or transport under defined temperature control requirements.
Palletising bulk quantities for irradiation, storage or shipment including adherence to stacking patterns and shrink-wrapping guidelines.
Accurate labelling and documentation of packed product for storage or transport.
Warehousing duties including the orderly storage, retrieval and transfer of products and consumables.
Provide assistance in the maintenance and monitoring of all on site freezers.
Deliveries and collections.
Drive company owned or leased vehicles within the UK as required in accordance with SBS Standard Operating Procedures.
Participate in vehicle loading and unloading of products for transport to storage facilities, customers and/or other processes such as irradiation and in accordance with SBS Standard Operating Procedures.
Complete all required transport records and other documentation in a timely manner
Interact with staff at storage, customer and/or other facilities such as irradiation in professional manner as a representative of the company. Obtain any required documentation requested.
Ensure company owned or leased vehicles are kept clean both inside and out.
Carry out routine checks/maintenance on company owned or leased vehicles such as oil and water levels, tyres etc. as well as refueling as required.
Recognize mechanical or electrical faults on vehicles and report to the Production Manager.
Report any mishap or accident to the Production Manager.
Keep all receipts/records and comply with all road and driver regulations.
Site Maintenance
Assist as directed in general site maintenance activities such as cleaning, pressure washing, gardening, painting.
GENERAL
Participate in cGMP training and apply principles to all activities.
Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety and employment related procedures and policies. Report any safety issues to the Production Manager.
Undertake any other duties as reasonably directed by the Production Manager.
Training, Experience and/or Qualifications
- Driving License
- Experience of driving in the UK
- Warehouse experience
Skills & Abilities
- Willingness and capacity to understand and apply the basic principles of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Willingness to follow company policies/guidelines and instructions, particularly those set out in SBS Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ability to work individually or as a member of a team.
- Demonstrate sound communication skills.
- Possess reasonable literacy and numeracy abilities.
- Show attention to detail.
- Demonstrate punctual and timely presentation of self and work.
- Demonstrate sound manual handling techniques.
- Willingness to comply with current policies relating to Workplace Health, Safety and Environmental Control.
Physical Requirements
- Pass a medical if required.
- Show reasonable respiratory and cardiovascular fitness.
- Lift up to 25 kg
Additional Requirements
- Legally able to reside and work in the UK.
- This role may also involve working outside of normal hours and occasional weekend work.
