An exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Customer Assistant role working in our distribution centre for the Waitrose contract in Greenford, Middlesex. The role involves a range of tasks including picking branch orders accurately and within productivity targets, loading and unloading vehicles and general cleaning of the warehouse areas. This role requires you to work in our ambient warehouse and always follow strict Health and Safety guidelines. Please note the role requires intensive manual handling and heavy lifting, involving repetitive bending, carrying, pulling, and pushing activities. You must be able to cope with the physical requirements of the role, be able to lift, move heavy items and pull/push very heavy cages/trolleys.
Hours: 40 hrs per week
Shift: Sun- Thurs or Tues to Sat rotating 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm
Hourly rate: £12.21 per hour

Duties and responsibilities:
- To store and replenish goods accurately and safely within the set targets.
- To pick orders accurately, safely, and according to targets.
- To load and unload vehicles to schedule accurately recording / inputting appropriate details.
- To work across all temperature regimes, as required.
- To complete all Warehouse and Transport system requirements as per the relevant processes.
- To fulfil the Gatehouse procedures as appropriate, where required.
- To complete basic documentation accurately.
- To carry out general cleaning duties within the warehouse.
- To ensure all legal, Health and Safety, Food Safety and Operational procedures are always adhered to ensure the safety of self and others.
- Report any injuries, accidents and any Health and Safety issues.
- Adhering to procedures and practices according to the training received.
- To participate and be involved in cultivating a culture of continuous improvement.
- Attend regular meetings and communicate any operational issues to the Management team.
- To ensure all procedures are adhered to, including all mandatory training completed as required.
Experience, Skills, and Attributes:
- Results orientated and can work to schedules.
- Able to lift heavy items
- Has a good degree of literacy and numeracy.
- Understands the basics of Health and Safety procedures.
- Reliable and punctual.
