Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Loader to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for loading and unloading goods, ensuring that materials are handled safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the overall success of our shipping and receiving operations.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials from lorries and containers using appropriate equipment.
- Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory and manage shipments.
- Ensure that all goods are handled with care to prevent damage during loading and unloading processes.
- Maintain an organised workspace, ensuring that all materials are stored correctly.
- Assist in the shipping and receiving processes, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Perform regular maintenance checks on equipment, including forklifts, to ensure safe operation.
- Collaborate with team members to build pallets and prepare products for dispatch.
- Adhere to all safety protocols while handling heavy lifting tasks.
Skills
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems for tracking inventory.
- Experience in shipping and receiving operations within a warehouse environment.
- Strong skills in materials handling, including loading and unloading goods efficiently.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on warehouse equipment.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification is preferred but not essential.
- Capability for heavy lifting as required by the role, with a focus on safety practices.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail when building pallets or preparing shipments.
