We are a small family run logistics company covering Walsall and Wolverhampton postcodes.
We are looking for a reliable Van Driver/Warehouse Operator to join our team. Hours will be to suit candidate from 16-24 hours per week. Once agreed these will be set hours/days.
The successful candidate will be responsible for picking and packing orders in our fulfilment centre in a morning, then in an afternoon collecting parcels from local businesses, bringing them back to our Walsall depot for sorting then dropping off at the delivery carriers in Birmingham.
The Van Driver must be able to follow instructions, use maps/ SAT NAV, and adhere to all traffic laws. The ideal candidate will have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and excellent customer service skills. An ability to work calmly and professionally under pressure is a must as we have collection deadlines that must be adhered. Some days we can have up to 20 collections.
Responsibilities:
- Drive a van in a safe and responsible manner.
- Follow all applicable laws and regulations while driving.
- Perform pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Load and unload goods from the van. Some parcels can be long lengths or up to 30kg
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pick-ups.
- Communicate with customers and other drivers on the road.
- Picking orders using a scanner and putting in the correct totes
- Packing orders
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21 per hour
