£48,886 - £61,901 a year
Belfast, Northern Ireland

At Allstate, great things happen when our people work together to protect families and their belongings from life’s uncertainties. And for more than 90 years our innovative drive has kept us a step ahead of our customers’ evolving needs. From advocating for seat belts, air bags and graduated driving laws, to being an industry leader in pricing sophistication, telematics, and, more recently, device and identity protection.

Your role in the team

The User Experience Designer is responsible for leading efforts in applying knowledge of human capabilities, technology, industry design best practices and standards to create user interfaces for Allstate digital products. As a User Experience Designer Senior Consultant II, you will collaborate on cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes in the service of Allstate customers. Working in an agile environment, you will be embedded on a product team, working directly with product management and developer roles. Along with the support and resources of our broader UX department, you will have many tools and resources at your disposal to create amazing experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design user interfaces that meet customer needs and drive business outcomes.
  • Use human-centred design methods and tools to solve problems and create user-centric designs.
  • Ensure designs balance user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
  • Advocate for UX design principles and standards within project teams.
  • Communicate design ideas and decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to design research, usability testing, and iterative design improvements.

Essential Skills

  • All candidates must demonstrate they have a legal right to work in the UK for employment at Allstate. Allstate is not providing sponsorship for this vacancy.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in UX design or a related field, with exposure to both visual and interaction design.
  • Proficiency in UX design principles, human-centred design methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Prior experience conducting user research through various methodologies (usability testing, user interviews, surveys).
  • Strong proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Prior experience of presenting design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience working within cross-functional teams, actively engaging in design discussions and feedback loops.

Desirable Skills

  • Strength in facilitating discussions to translate complex product requirements into design flows and user experiences.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects concurrently with strong communication.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This job does not have supervisory duties.
