Upholsterer – Northampton (Full-Time, Permanent)
We are seeking an experienced Upholsterer to join a busy furniture manufacturer producing high-quality office seating and furniture.
Hours & Pay:
- Monday to Friday, 6:30am – 3:00pm
- 42.5 hours per week (day shifts with an early finish)
- £13.00 – £13.50 per hour depending on experience
- Starter rate may apply during training until fully competent on products
Main Duties:
- Upholstering chairs, sofas, and office seating to a high standard
- Working with a range of fabrics, vinyl, and leather materials
- Measuring, cutting, and fitting fabrics accurately
- Using air tools, staple guns, and other upholstery tools
- Assembling frames and padding prior to upholstery
- Repairing and re-upholstering existing products when required
- Meeting daily production targets while maintaining quality
- Ensuring consistency, craftsmanship, and attention to detail in all work
Requirements:
- Previous experience in upholstery, ideally within seating or furniture manufacturing
- Skilled in using upholstery hand tools and machinery
- Good hand–eye coordination and manual handling ability
- Ability to follow work instructions, drawings, and quality standards
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
