We are proud to be the founders of Income Protection Insurance cover that pays money to our members if they’re too sick or injured to work. We believe we understand the needs of our members.
We are looking for someone to join our Underwriting Team, to pro-actively assess the risk of Income Protection applicants, making decisions and justifications against our Philosophy. You will also underwrite and make amendments to existing IP contracts, ensuring the correct underwriting decision is applied to the plan using substandard terms, loadings and exclusions where applicable.
Skills we are looking for:
· Excellent verbal and written communication, you'll be dealing with our members, Financial Advisors and medical professionals
· Ability to work in a team, liaising with other Underwriters, and Claim Assessors to gain advice to ascertain an excellent Underwriting service
· Excellent judgement and decision-making skills
· Has a thorough and methodical approach, paying attention to detail in all aspects of underwriting assessment
· Excellent numeracy skills and be competent in Microsoft Office
Experience:
Experience and understanding of the Underwriting process is essential and experience & understanding of Income Protection, would be an advantage.
An empathetic approach and excellent interpersonal skills.
