CoMech Metrology is a trusted name in calibration and testing services, committed to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Twilight Driver to join our team and support our operations.
Responsibilities
- To work in a safe manner, observing the Highway Code and adhering to the Company Rules and Terms, Conditions of Employment and as detailed in the company’s Drugs and Alcohol Policy. And in accordance with the company’s Health & Safety Rules Health & Safety Policy Statement 2008. Also to conform to the requirements of the HSC Railway Safety Critical Work and Railway Group Standard BO/RT3260 AND GM/RT2450.
- CoMech is committed to act in compliance with Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme (FORS) latest regulation and you are required to be familiar with and comply with the standards of section V8 (vehicle maneuvering and D2 (vulnerable road users policy).
- To collect and deliver calibration equipment to and from CoMech and our client and supplier bases.
- In the event of an accident to follow the procedure on the Company Vehicle In Case of Accident document.
- To maintain an awareness of the day-to-day requirements for collections and deliveries to and from the customers and to carry out, organise and arrange these in the most effective manner.
- To carry out any other driving or warehousing duties as required.
- To handle and manage receipt and tilised of equipment in a suitable manner to ensure no equipment is lost or damaged.
- To ensure all utilised notes and delivery notes are completed and signed correctly by both the driver and the person receiving goods, and handed to the CoMech dispatch department each day.
- Must avoid all distraction which, for clarity, includes operating any electronic device; hand-held mobile phones, send or read text messages, or adjust settings on Sat Nav while driving
- To observe safe working practices.
- To monitor the condition of the vehicle on a daily basis. To check the company vehicle prior to departure each day and complete the check-list form as evidence of carrying out this process
- To work overtime as dictated by pressure of work.
Accountabilities
- To maintain an awareness of the Company’s quality requirements and Company Procedures and be responsible for their actions whilst driving vehicles which are being utilised on company business.
- If there are any problems with the vehicle, or it does not comply with the check-list, these must be report to the Company prior to departure.
- Plan your journey to fulfill your obligations and complete your journey at a safe speed and within the speed limits.
- To communicate with the relevant Manager or Head of Business / Laboratory and carry out their instructions.
- Responsible for the transport of samples, gauges and instruments safely to and from customers’ premises in various areas of the country.
Experience
- Hold a driving license for a minimum of two years.
Qualifications:
- Hold a full, clean driving license
