Job Description
Our Telford site are now recruiting for a Transport Planning Supervisor to join their friendly team on a 12 month fixed term basis.
Working hours: 4 on 4 off, 6:30am-6:30pm.
Salary: £35,995 per annum, plus £1,000 per annum attendance bonus.
As a Transport Planning Supervisor you will support the delivery of the Transport Budget with respect to own Fleet Usage and Haulier spend. The role will support the Transport Function in optimising and providing the most cost effective transport solutions to the business.
Key Duties of a Transport Planning Supervisor:
- Review the daily Transport Plan to drive out efficiencies.
- Ensure that sufficient staff are on shift each day and Payroll / Annual Leave is covered / completed on Horizon.
- Source 3rd Party Work and increase backhaul revenue.
- Publish Daily KPIs / Daily Stats ensuring targets are met.
- Ensure Service Level Agreements are exceeded.
- Carry out any additional work requested by the Transport Planning Manager.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Transport Planning in a radial and direct delivery environment including Inter Depot Trunk or Cross Docking movements.
- Knowledge of the Transport Management Systems is essential.
- Team player who can develop Internal and External relationships.
- Experience of reporting within a cost / KPI driven operational environment.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure and to prioritise workloads to meet set deadlines.
- Good geographical knowledge.
- Ability to work on own initiative, without direction.
- Computer literate including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
