Due to our operation going 7 days per week we are looking for 2 experienced Routers / Transport Planners / Schedulers to work on a 4 on / 4 off rolling rota - based at our Grays depot. This will include weekend work.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Planning the delivery route to be taken by each driver – determine needed stops and best use of trucks to meet delivery demands
Send work to the Drivers using the Hawk system
Print driver work and ensure this is in their kit bag ready for the days work
Dealing with any day-to-day issues, queries, phone calls etc.
Covering phones for drivers at all depots on Weekends and dealing with any issues that arise including dealing with breakdowns etc.
Deal with “live” orders and enquiries from the sales team and try to accommodate them where possible
Administration of the in-house systems and spreadsheets
Deal with customer enquiries and complaints
Analysis of Driver times to ensure legal compliance and safety
Supporting the office with incoming calls, visitors, deliveries etc.
Ordering stock for the depots
Yard work as required
Any other duties as required
The ideal candidate will:
be ADR qualified - preferred
have 2 years experience of working in a fast paced, transport environment – preferred
be IT literate - essential
have geographical knowledge of Grays and the surrounding areas - preferred
