Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimising transportation logistics and ensuring efficient movement of goods. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of logistics operations.
Duties
- Develop and implement effective transport plans to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Analyse transportation routes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with various departments to coordinate logistics and manage transport schedules.
- Report and update operational paperwork and records
- Provide excellent communication and support to drivers, ensuring they have the information needed to complete their routes successfully, as well as brief/debrief
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers.
- Maintain accurate records of transport activities and provide reports as needed.
- Communicate effectively with customers to address inquiries and resolve issues.
- Utilise software tools, including Excel and Word, to manage data and create documentation.
- Monitor compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service by managing client relationships professionally.
- Occasional cover in the warehousing including loading and unloading vehicles
- Occasional driving cover including local collections
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is essential for data management and reporting.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, are required for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Previous experience in logistics or a related field is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Computer literacy is necessary, including familiarity with IT systems relevant to transport planning.
- A customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organisation.
- Strong organisational skills with the capability to work independently as well as part of a team.
