The Opportunity

We are looking for diverse and experienced individuals who bring expertise across key areas such as transport planning, strategy and policy, low carbon transport, consultation, and project management. A keen interest in emerging innovations in transport and mobility is essential, as we continue to shape the future of sustainable movement and urban connectivity.

As the successful candidate, you’ll become a vital part of a well-established and dynamic transport planning team based in Birmingham city centre. Our team collaborates with a prestigious portfolio of clients both in the UK and internationally including National Highways, Network Rail, the Department for Transport, EBRD, and Birmingham Airport. We provide a comprehensive range of transport planning solutions tailored to the evolving needs of our clients, with digital innovation playing a growing role in delivering compelling, effective outcomes.

In this role, your day-to-day responsibilities will include supporting senior management and project managers in the delivery of key projects. You’ll assist in preparing bids and submissions as part of our business development strategy and actively contribute to securing new work. Building and nurturing strong client relationships will be central, alongside identifying opportunities to expand our services through close monitoring of market trends and developments.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who can work under clear instruction and independently, with experience delivering quality outputs aligned with project deadlines. You should be able to demonstrate a knowledge of the private and public sector markets and be keen to develop their skills and experience in the delivery of transport planning, transport strategy and policy, low carbon and future mobility project

  • Strong technical foundation in transport planning, with experience spanning strategy and policy, modelling, engineering, active travel, low carbon transport, and future mobility.
  • Proven track record in report writing, bid preparation, and delivering compelling, evidence-based outputs for clients.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator, skilled in stakeholder engagement, cross-disciplinary teamwork, and leading discussions with key industry partners.
  • Project and workload management expertise, with the ability to delegate, monitor, and deliver tasks to time and budget constraints.
  • Well-rounded professional background, including experience with transport assessments, commercial appraisal, and proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g. Python, Power BI, GIS). Chartered or working towards chartership (CIHT, TPP, ICE).
