Orchard Park Farm comprises of over 200 ha of cider apple orchards under management based in a beautiful part of Somerset near Shepton Mallet. Primarily cider apple growers and juice processors for cider, our business also covers general agricultural work supporting bio-diversity net gain through positive ecological improvements such as existing woodland management schemes, new woodland tree planting scheme, Newt ponds, and is a FWAG barometer farm, as well as hosting public facing events throughout the year. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, general maintenance and care of our John Deere tractors, JCB slew, telehandler, fork lift, apple harvesters, apple tree shakers, blowers, sprayers, mechanical pruners, topping, hedge trimming, tanking & haulage.
We are looking for an experienced machine operator, who is passionate about the outdoors, enthusiastic, self motivated that can work alone but also a team player, with excellent time keeping, reliable and positive can do attitude, for our busy horticultural cider orchard farm, and contracted orchards around Somerset. Able to show evidence of the Right to Work in the UK.
Roles would include: key operator of agricultural equipment, such as apple tree shakers, blowers and apple harvesters, sprayers, mechanical pruners, topping, slew operations, apple harvesting and processing, hedge trimming, tanking, haulage and general farm work (non-livestock). Work Monday - Friday (7.30am - 5.00pm), with some occasional weekends during busy seasons.
Experience with: tractor driving, self propelled harvesters, spraying, fencing, slews, telehandler, ATV's, general maintenance, are preferable.
Relevant industry training certificates are desirable, but not essential, and can be provided.
Full UK driving license essential.
