Duties
- Operate tractor trailers safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents that may occur during transit.
- Assist in the maintenance of the tractors by performing basic mechanical checks as needed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols while driving and during loading/unloading operations.
Experience
- Proven experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with operating flatbed lorries and vans is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues is an asset.
