Ideally the successful applicant will have completed Foundation Training (or equivalent). Applicants should have passed the MRCS.
The post will be available from the 6th August 2025 for a period of 6 months and is based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. This can be extended with mutual agreement and satisfactory performance.
The post holder will join the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. There is an active Friday afternoon teaching programme for the Orthopaedic Department as well as a combined teaching programme for Basic Surgical Trainees. A daily trauma meeting is held at 8am each day in which the previous 24 hours admissions are presented by the relevant firm on call.
Research and teaching is expected of every trainee.
The Trust is committed to developing a strong teaching, training and research reputation and is closely linked with the University of Newcastle upon Tyne for teaching of Medical Students at all stages. Undergraduate and postgraduate medical environment activities are co-ordinated through the Trust’s Research and Development Committee.
