Job Description
What will you be doing?
ALTEN is seeking TVAC Test Engineers to support a leading space customer in Portsmouth. You'll play a key role in calibrating and running thermal vacuum testing in a high-spec lab, ensuring spacecraft components are ready for orbit.
- Carrying out thermal vacuum (TVAC) testing on spacecraft hardware
- Working from established test plans to set up and calibrate test machines
- Monitoring test performance, collecting data, and ensuring test accuracy
- Collaborating with engineers from various disciplines to meet space mission standards
- Working on a 7-day shift rotation: including early, late, and night shifts
Qualifications
Experience, skills and qualifications required:
- Experience in a space test lab or similar testing environment
- Hands-on knowledge of thermal vacuum chambers or environmental testing
- Ability to follow strict procedures and calibration methods
- BPSS or basic security clearance eligible (commercial programme—no SC required)
- Comfortable with 5 days per week on-site in Portsmouth
- A degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar Engineering field is desirable
