Technology Director - Defence
At KPMG we are continuing to develop and grow our Defence technology practice and are seeking to appoint an additional Director to support the ambition of doubling the size of the practice over the next 3 financial years. The successful candidate will have deep sector knowledge combined with strong technology consulting/transformation experience and commercial/sales orientated outlook.

The Role
KPMG combine industry knowledge and change management skills to deliver successful technology enabled transformation programmes for clients, primarily UK Ministry of Defence. KPMG work with business and technology stakeholders in a senior and influential capacity to deliver technology enabled change.
You will also be playing a crucial role in helping to drive our growth in the Defence sector, being part of a dynamic team with an inclusive culture offering strong internal networks and support. You will lead and deliver consulting engagements for our clients, as well as supporting the wider development of the Defence Consulting team and our Technology Transformation team.
You will be responsible for identifying opportunities, developing relationships and furthering revenue streams from clients. You will leverage and develop your own network as well as developing relationships with clients and partners to understand their issues and, from that, develop solutions and add value.
Experience/Skills
- Technology transformation skills gained from within the Defence Sector
- Technology skills across the whole spectrum of capabilities, drawing together the whole of Tech and Data to provide integrated solutions.
- Experience of selling and delivering large multi-disciplinary technology enabled programmes within the Defence sector
- Working collaboratively across multiple SSL’s to bring integrated solutions to the client either as the leader or as an enabler.
- An understanding of the key client issues and technology landscapes used across Defence including in each of the individual commands and TLB’s
- Extensive experience planning and crafting projects, managing progress, resolving issues and limiting risks in highly complex, diverse and cross-border environments
- Demonstrate a working style that is team focused, open and commercially driven while meeting the highest standards of integrity
- Consistent track record of winning competitive, commercially viable business through new business sales
- Positive relationships and strong market networks within the industry, the capability to generate sales activities and collateral
- Ability to deliver large complex programmes and lead technology transformation programmes in Defence, with a focus on delivering measurable impacts to the client
- Strong business / relationship development skills
- Excellent communication skills and the expertise to influence at the highest level
- Dedication to progressing within the firm
