We’re now looking for a skilled Tax Accountant / Tax Specialist to join our thriving Stockport-based finance function. You’ll be stepping into a varied role that offers exposure to corporate tax, VAT, tax risk management, and exciting project work – all within a supportive and high-performing team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assist in the preparation of tax computations and liaise with external tax advisors.
- Maintain precise tax payment records, calculations, and documentation.
- Assist with VAT returns and ensure HMRC compliance.
- Support responses to HMRC queries and audits.
- Contribute to internal tax risk assessments and process improvements.
- Keep up to date with changing tax legislation, especially within construction.
- Work closely with the Group Tax Manager on ad hoc projects.
What we’re looking for:
- ATT, ACA, ACCA PQ or QBE
- Previous exposure to corporate tax compliance and reporting.
- Detail-driven, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style.
