We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated community Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role involves working closely with service users in their homes. The Support Worker will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those they care for. A car is essential for this role, we regret that we cannot offer a position to you if you do not drive.
Duties
- Assist service users with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to service users, fostering a positive environment.
- Administer medication as prescribed as per training, Monitor service users for any changes in condition.
- Assist with safe manual handling as per Manual handling plan when necessary to ensure service user's safety.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Accompany service users to appointments or social activities as required, PLEASE NOTE that business insurance is required for this.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and follow individual care plans.
- must have availability EVERY other weekend
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with service users and their families.
- Experience in home care is advantageous, however training will be provided.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures is essential or the willingness to learn.
- A valid driving licence is required for this role as this is a community position.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Social Care Registration is mandatory, we will support you through this process.
