Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being in various settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and in the community. This role is vital in promoting the dignity and independence of those we care for, particularly seniors and individuals with specific health challenges.
Responsibilities
This particular role will involve supporting a young man, who has an acquired brain injury with general support/ companionship. He is looking for someone bubbly and outgoing, who is going to promote his independence and get him out in the community. Having experience with ABI, young adults and/ or drug abuse would be relevant to this role.
- Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Assist with medication administration as per care plans and ensure adherence to prescribed schedules.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and physical well-being.
- Prepare meals that meet dietary requirements and preferences of clients.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Support clients with mobility challenges, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Document client progress and any changes in behaviour or condition accurately.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care tailored to individual needs.

Skills
- Experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or similar settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care practices is advantageous.
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on patient care and behaviour management techniques.
- Proficiency in first aid and emergency response procedures.
- Valid driving licence preferred for transporting clients as needed.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting clients with mobility issues.
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with clients and their families.

Requirements:
- Right to work in the UK
- Must have a UK drivers license, access to your own vehicle and business class insurance
- At least 6-months of UK based care experience
- Knowledge of complex care is desired
- Are willing to do alternative weekends or 1 weekend out of 4
- All successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check
