An exciting opportunity has arisen for two dynamic and highly motivated people with a vision and passion for working with homeless people to join us in St Helens.
We are looking to appoint a Support Worker to work within Champions Court/ Edgerton Street, St Helens. This is a 28 unit / Tenancies with Torus Housing. We accommodate both males and females aged 18+.
Our Support Workers are responsible for delivering a high-quality programme of support which promote client choice and control with the aim to obtain and sustain independent living.
The Support Worker will address clients support needs on an individual basis, enable them to make positive life choices and ultimately empower them to lead more sustainable lifestyles.
They will also complete day to day activities including administration tasks and reception duties to support the successful operation of the service.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to prioritise their own workload via good time management and autonomy
- IT Literacy
- good written and verbal communication skills
- knowledge of the main support needs which are commonly faced by homeless and vulnerable clients
- knowledge of the welfare system
- ability to work within the Christian Ethos of The Salvation Army
