Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in need, including seniors, children, and those requiring specialised support. This role involves a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing the quality of life for our clients while ensuring their safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene.
- Provide support in meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Administer medication as prescribed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, particularly those with dementia or in hospice care.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients at all times.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in senior care, childcare, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility needs.
- Certification in first aid or CPR is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- A valid driving licence is required for transporting clients.
- A caring attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality support and care.
