Support Care Worker – Hopleys House
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of adults with complex needs? At Hopleys House, we’re looking for a dedicated Support Care Worker who can bring compassion, resilience, and professionalism to our team.
This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviours, who understands the importance of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and can self-regulate in emotionally demanding situations. You’ll be a key part of a team that delivers safe, person-centred care while promoting dignity, independence, and choice.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care tailored to each resident’s needs and PBS plans
- Support individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours that challenge
- Maintain emotional awareness and self-regulation to ensure safe and respectful support
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure consistent, person-centred care
- Follow care plans and risk assessments, ensuring documentation is accurate and current
- Assist with daily routines, medication administration, and safeguarding practices
- Promote infection control and safe working procedures throughout the home
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and professionals
- Contribute to care reviews, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
- Uphold a supportive and inclusive environment that values each resident’s voice
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards Level 3)
- Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs
- Familiarity with PBS approaches and behaviour support planning
- Ability to remain calm, reflective, and emotionally regulated under pressure
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
- Understanding of safeguarding, medication protocols, and person-centred care
Desirable:
- Experience in shift leadership or mentoring care staff
- Knowledge of digital care systems (e.g. Log My Care)
- Awareness of CQC standards and Health & Safety in residential settings
