Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for providing care and support to individuals in need, particularly in assisted living, nursing homes, and home care settings. Duties
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Providing companionship and emotional support to clients, particularly those with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
- Supporting clients in maintaining their independence while ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Engaging clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and physical well-being.
- Assisting with heavy lifting and mobility support as required.
- Implementing behaviour management strategies to assist clients with challenging behaviours.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Driving clients to appointments or social activities when necessary.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospice care settings.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and senior care practices.
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on patient care and compassion.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for client support.
- Experience in meal preparation tailored to individual dietary needs.
