We have an opportunity to work within our Alexander Street service supporting adults with a variety of additional support needs such as learning disability, autism, physical health needs, ADHD and mental health issues.
About The Role
As a Support Worker, you will be helping people with all aspects of daily life, including:
- Personal care (including intimate personal care).
- Support with all aspects of medication.
- Support with cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and shopping.
- Some of the people we support need assistance and guidance with emotional, behavioural and personal safety support.
- Promote positive mental health and developing constructive coping strategies
- Social support including accessing community-based resources and planning for leisure so that life is interesting and enjoyable
- Exploring opportunities for meaningful employment
In this role you have the brilliant opportunity to give new experiences to the people you are supporting.
About You
You will;
- Be cheerful, caring and reliable. You will smile a lot, be able to chat about a wide range of topics and be able to make a positive difference to someone’s day. You should have a good sense of humour.
- Have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Work as a part of a team and be required to carry out sleepover and waking night shifts.
- Undertake a key working role that includes administrative tasks and IT skills
- Be able to show transferrable skills relating to care
- Hold an SVQ2 in Health and Social Care, or have the willingness undertake study to achieve this
- Obtain registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post.
