We are recruiting Support Workers to work in our new Supported Living Service in Battle shortly.
As a support worker, you will encourage and enable adults with a learning disability, providing practical and compassionate support in all areas of daily living. Experience in care is not necessary. You just need to have the right values and a passion for supporting people to achieve greater independence.
Our Supported Living Service in Battle will provide support to six adults and is focused on achieving and maintaining their independence. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the development of this new scheme, alongside the development of people who will live there.
Your role may include supporting people out in the community, working alongside people to maintain and learn new skills, supporting with activities and providing personal care. A full training programme is available to support you in your role including handling medication, health and safety, safeguarding and manual handling. The opportunity to undertake the Care Certificate is also available.
We are looking for candidates who:
Have a positive attitude towards the rights of people with learning disabilities
Have excellent communication and organisational skills
Are self-motivated
Are physically able to carry out all tasks as required
Are committed to providing excellent support
Willing to undertake training required to complete the job role
Have an ethos of working together
