Gladstones Clinic is a private residential drug and alcohol detoxification and rehabilitation centre located in rural Gloucestershire. We are seeking an experienced Substance Misuse Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis. The role will involve prescribing medications for clients undergoing detox and rehabilitation, conducting assessments, and supporting the multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate may be required to cover our Weston-super-Mare service on a rotational or as-needed basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prescribing Medications: Prescribe medications as appropriate for clients undergoing detoxification, withdrawal, and treatment for addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Client Health Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans, considering the client’s health, mental well-being, and history.
- Medication Reviews: Monitor and review prescribed medications to ensure their effectiveness, compliance, and safety for clients.
- Detox & Withdrawal Support: Provide medical support and monitoring for clients undergoing detox and withdrawal.
- Staff Support: Offer general health advice to staff and provide guidance on client care, ensuring the highest standards of practice.
- Collaboration: Work closely with our multidisciplinary team (doctors, nurses, therapists, and support staff) to ensure integrated and holistic client care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of assessments, prescriptions, medication reviews, and client progress.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN), Pharmacist, or Other Health Professional with current NMC or GMC registration.
- Substance Misuse Non-Medical Prescriber qualification (NMP) is essential.
- Experience in prescribing for addiction, substance misuse, or mental health settings is required.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A strong understanding of detoxification, withdrawal management, and substance misuse treatment.
