We are looking for a passionate Health and Social Care Tutor to join the high achieving department. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver inspiring lessons, bring knowledge and experience to the curriculum, and have a desire to teach beyond the specification, believing every student can succeed. While a teaching qualification is desirable, we will consider applications from non- qualified graduates. Graduates looking to start a career in teaching at the Sixth Form College will be allocated a reduced timetable with comprehensive support and mentoring. Health & Social Care Department:
Ethos of the department – A department that is student focused and works collaboratively to support student success and progress. The work of the students and staff reaches far beyond the subject and impacts the wider college and local community. Work experience and volunteering in a range of environments, well being and mental health development is a cornerstone of the subject's ethos. Common progressions for our students, in combination with other subjects in their study programme include; Social Work, Nursing degrees, Midwifery Degrees, Occupational Therapy. The upcoming launch of the new specification would provide an aspiring or experienced manager the opportunity to continue to build this subject to fulfil the college strategic priorities. Ensuring success for all students in their progression and aspirational directions beyond college.

- Cohort Size: Approximately 150 students across the two year groups.
- Number of Staff: 4 teaching staff (all part-time)
- Management Structure: 1 Curriculum Manager for the programme.
- Exam board specification: OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate (Current), OCR Level 3 Cambridge Advance Nationals AAQs (Incoming).
- Department facilities: 2 classrooms with computer availability and a wide range of resources to support the field of study.

Day to Day Expectations of a Teacher
A full time teacher will have 22.5 hours per week contact with students, split over 5 Teaching groups (15 periods ) with 5 additional periods for preparation & marking.
Throughout the year there are a number of whole college events, (open evenings, parent evenings, Interview day, enrollment) at which attendance is required.
Common resources are shared within departments and there are regular opportunities for professional development, delivering extracurricular student clubs and wellbeing / social activities.
