Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by offering personal assistance and support tailored to their unique needs.
Duties
You will be responsible for supporting a young woman with her daily living and assisting her with caring for her 1 year old daughter. This client has an acquired brain injury and requires a lot of prompting and encouragement with daily tasks. The ideal candidate will be very proactive and have a UK drivers license and own reliable car would be beneficial.
- Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients’ health conditions.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary.
- Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in their condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
Shift pattern
Mon-Sun
7am-9:30pm (long day shift)
9:30pm-7am (sleep in night shift) £75 per sleep
Experience
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar settings is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care practices is beneficial.
- Skills in first aid and caregiving are essential for ensuring client safety and well-being.
- Experience in childcare may also be advantageous when working with families requiring support services.
