Development Opportunity
The Board of Trustees wish to appoint an experienced and successful teacher as Specialist Practitioner. At The Harmony Trust, Specialist Practitioners are teachers primarily deployed to academies to lead provision and demonstrate excellence in the classroom.
Each post holder will also be an active member of The Harmony Trust Development Team. They are expected to be flexible and responsive to Academy and Trust needs. The postholder will initially be based at the Inclusion Hub teacher at Lakeside Primary Academy but may be deployed the other academies within our Derby Academies.
We welcome applications from excellent teachers with the following specialisms:
- Supporting pupils with Autistic Spectrum Condition.
- Supporting pupils with complex needs to thrive within school; particularly pupils who may dysregulate or require a bespoke curriculum to meet their needs.
- Adapting teaching to meet the needs of pupils with SEND or EAL.
- Using Communication Friendly Environments
- Evidenced practice as a highly effective teacher over a period of time improving pupil outcomes, particularly in a setting with high levels of pupils with SEND.
- Experience of working effectively as a middle / subject leader within a team
- Experience of developing high quality learning strategies and monitoring learner progress to raise attainment
- Experience of leading teaching and learning initiatives beyond own classroom
- Experience of coaching and mentoring colleagues
