Dental Receptionist

Outline of responsibilities:
* Answer the telephone, emails and deal with patient enquiries in a positive, efficient and friendly manner
* Receive and deal with patients and visitors in a pleasant and prompt manner
* Notify dentists/hygienists of patients’ arrivals
* Schedule patient appointments in accordance with the practice policies and keep records of all appointments and remind patients of their appointments as required
* Collect and record patient payments and pursue any debts in accordance with the practice payments policy
* Deal with incoming referrals for all clinicians
* Maintain the patient records to ensure they are completed correctly before filing them securely. Follow computer procedures to ensure that patient records are properly maintained
* Ensure all confidential files and prescription pad are managed appropriately
* Liaise with dental laboratories, suppliers and other organisations as required, keeping records of laboratory work in and out
* Deal in an appropriate and prompt manner with patient feedback and inform the practice manager about patient comments and complaints
* Manage the sales of dental sundries to patients and ensure patients are provided with the opportunity to buy sundries when they leave the practice, prompt/inform the member of staff doing the ordering if sundries stock is getting low.
* Assist throughout the practice and perform such other tasks as reasonably requested by the lead receptionist, practice manager and principal dentist
* To be of smart appearance and have an efficient, friendly, sympathetic manner
* Be able to handle a high level of patient queries
* To update patient records and book appointments keeping in with GDPR policies
Be confident to work with computerised booking systems (training will be given)

Requirements:
Experience of customer service or reception duties in a healthcare or hospitality environment is essential
Experience of working in a dental practice and experience of Software of Excellence is desirable

Monday: 8.45 - 17.30
Tuesday: 8.45 - 1730
Wednesday: 7.45 - 17.30
Friday: 8.45 - 17.30
33.50 per week plus 2 Saturday per month
1 x Saturday 8.45 - 17.00
2 x Saturday 8.45 - 14.00
Total pro rata hours per week 36.50
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.21-£14.50 per hour
Expected hours: 36.5 per week
