Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has opened for a Soft Landscaper/Horticulturalist to join our team.
This is a hands-on role which requires a team player who is able to show initiative.
Outstanding communication skills are vital, as is a full driving license. The successful candidate will be passionate about gardening and all thing horticulture, and will have a desire to pass this knowledge on as we look to grow the maintenance team.
Main responsibilities:
- Weeding, pruning, cutting back, re-potting, tying in and general seasonal bed and border care
- Planting of trees, shrubs, perennials and bulbs
- Pond care including pump and filter maintenance
- Bed care , soil conditioning and mulching
- Hedge trimming, lawn mowing, strimming, edging and low level tree pruning and lopping
- Treatment of pest and disease using environmentally friendly treatments and techniques
- Use, care and maintain tools according to Health and Safety guidelines.
- Assist the Landscaping team when appropriate, with planting and other soft landscaping task.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in maintaining gardens OR a seasoned landscaper with a specialist interest in horticulture
- Qualification in Horticulture would be an advantage
- Full, clean and valid driving license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Good plant identification skills and knowledge of how to care for them
- High level of physical fitness and is prepared to work outside in all weathers
- Excellent time management and the ability to work to deadlines
- Attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
