Our aims are to help people live healthier, happier lives and reach their recovery goal through person centred support and holistic recovery plans. We offer in house interventions such as 1-1 psychosocial support, group work, clinical intervention, harm reduction and counselling.
The role of Social Work Lead at CGL Newham Rise is a very special one! You will upskill the team in the management of safeguarding concerns, including those involving children and vulnerable adults through training, case consultation and observed practice. You will support the team to assess, support and refer to further support (including social care) when the threshold is met and advocate for service users. You will work with the team to advocate on behalf of the service users.
The role is based across all three of our sites and will include outreach and home visits where required.

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Work Lead to join out Newham service. At CGL Newham Rise, we support Newham residents aged 11+ who are either affected by their own, or a loved one's drug or alcohol use. The team is a large, diverse multi-disciplinary team made up of Clinicians, Recovery Workers, Counsellors, Psychologists, operational managers, administrators, volunteers and people with lived experience.

About the role:
- Work flexibly and creatively to establish and support our service users in making a positive difference to their lives.
- Complete direct work with service users around the issues they face.
- Through reflective practice, team formulation and training, support the team to increase knowledge, skills, and professional confidence around the needs of the people we support.
- Ensure that the team are adhering to best practice guidelines and the delivery of high-quality care.
- Be responsible for writing assessments and preparing court reports so good report writing skills and attention to detail is important. .
About you:

Knowledge of current legislation surrounding children, young people
and safeguarding practice. - Significant experience of leading teams who work with families where
children are subject to Child Protection or Child in Need Plans Experience of supervising staff working with children, young people and
parents to achieve positive outcomes. -
Experience of working in teams who support families displaying
challenging behaviour in one or more of the following fields: social
work; youth offending; substance misuse; probation; health; mental
health, domestic abuse. -
Knowledge of health and social care legislation relating to
children, young people and families. - Meeting demanding targets and deadlines

Possess, or be willing to work towards a recognised qualification in
health, social care or management -
Knowledge of child development and the impact of parenting and
external factors of wellbeing and outcomes - Knowledge of Safeguarding processes, court proceedings and child
protection thresholds
