Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving and delivery, with the ability to operate various types of vehicles, including flatbed lorries. This role requires excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety and efficiency in transporting goods.
Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles for the delivery of goods to designated locations.
- Ensure timely and accurate deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that may occur during transit.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Utilise mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on the vehicle as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols at all times while on the road or in the warehouse environment.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for vehicle operation.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to vehicle operation and maintenance.
- Experience working in a warehouse setting is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required by the job demands.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £15.00-£17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
