Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude, ensuring a welcoming and efficient shopping experience for all customers. This role requires the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of service and organisation.
Duties
- Assist customers with their inquiries and provide exceptional service throughout their shopping experience
- Maintain an organised and visually appealing shop environment through effective merchandising
- Handle transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring basic math skills are applied in cash handling
- Engage in upselling techniques to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
- Manage inventory levels, restocking shelves as necessary, and ensuring products are displayed correctly
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when responding to customer calls or queries
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth shop operations and maintain a positive working atmosphere
Requirements
- Proficiency in English is essential
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing inventory
- Excellent time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy environment
- Organisational skills to maintain shop standards and assist with stock management
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is an advantage but not mandatory
