Contract Type: Variable Hours (Full-Time, 40 hours per week across 5 days)
About the Role
Tian Tian Market is a leading Asian food retailer, offering a wide range of high-quality products from East and Southeast Asia. We are currently seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Shop Assistants to join our team at our Canning Town store.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a consistently high level of customer service
- Assist customers with product selection and respond to queries professionally
- Handle customer complaints and escalate to senior staff when necessary
- Maintain strong product knowledge, especially of Asian food items
- Receive and store large stock deliveries
- Replenish shelves with correct stock rotation and accurate pricing
- Conduct regular date checks to minimise waste
- Operate tills and process cash and card payments securely
- Balance cash registers and report discrepancies to management
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the store, including vacuuming, mopping, and waste disposal
- Support promotional activities and merchandising displays
- Follow store procedures and brand guidelines
- Monitor for security risks and report suspicious activity (e.g. shoplifting, fraudulent payments)
- Uphold health and safety standards across the store
- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in retail or customer service (Essential)
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin (Desirable)
- Familiarity with East and Southeast Asian food products (Desirable)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, proactive, and team-oriented personality
- Experience in stock replenishment and handling large deliveries (Essential)
- Must have the right to work in the UK

Recruitment Process
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a face-to-face interview with the Store Supervisor, followed by a two-hour trial shift at our Canary Wharf Store.
Employment is subject to satisfactory references and successful completion of the trial shift.
