Overview
We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in metal fabrication, with the ability to work with various materials and tools. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the capability to produce high-quality metal components. As a Metal Fabricator, you will play a crucial part in assembling and fabricating metal structures that meet our specifications.
Duties
- Fabricate and assemble metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Utilise sheet metal techniques for the creation of parts and assemblies.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively, ensuring all equipment is maintained in good working order.
- Perform stick welding and other welding techniques to join metal parts securely.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet required standards.
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics to guide fabrication processes.
- Collaborate with team members to improve production efficiency and resolve any issues that arise during fabrication.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience in metal fabrication or a related field is essential.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment is required.
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations are necessary for accurate fabrication work.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to understand machinery operation and maintenance is advantageous.
- Familiarity with sheet metal work, assembly processes, and welding techniques will be considered a plus.
